London-based designer Katharine Pooley creates luxurious tailored interiors for the some of the world’s most discriminating clients.  Her unique talent for marrying diverse cultural influences with timeless luxury and intelligent design makes her highly sought-after.  The designer’s tailored interiors serve as an aspiration for the global elite.

For our design inspiration today, we are looking at a chic contemporary apartment overlooking Hyde Park completed by Katherine Pooley Design Studio.  Plush upholstered furnishings and exquisite finishes were bespoke designed for this residence.  The contemporary luxury design includes natural stone accents, metallic details, and inlays of precious material that embellish every surface.

The designer created a marble, antique brass, and leather paneled joinery wall with a central feature fireplace. The subtlety veined marble slab was handpicked to work with the room’s rich color scheme.  The effect is understated glamour and perfect for city living. 

HYDE PARK TAILORED INTERIORS

The formal reception room includes custom velvet upholstered furnishings gathered on a deep pile rug before windows overlooking leafy Hyde Park.  Silk and exquisitely embroidered cushions and throws add an extra layer of decadent texture.

Silver tableware and Jacques fine porcelain from Katherine Pooley Home adorn the Calacatta blue marble surface top. 

Beautiful mineral obelisks and shagreen accessories decorate the KPL designed brass side table.

Katherine Pooley’s discerning eye for detail and natural understanding of design essentials distinguish her in London’s design world.  Her sophisticated composures of color, form, and material create functional, tailored interiors that suit the client’s lifestyle perfectly.

A sense of adventure defines Katherine’s life and inspires her design philosophy.  The designer travels the world, summiting the highest mountains, crossing the Sahara on horseback, and visiting more than 150 countries.  She has lived in Hong Kong, Vietnam, Singapore, and Bahrain and now spends her time between London and Scotland.

Functionality is key in design.  A hidden desk blends with the chrome inlaid joinery doors.

The tailored interiors include bespoke designed joinery doors finished with textured wall covering, layered with inlaid polished brass trims, and accented with Lucite handles.

That concludes our design inspiration for today, my friend. 

In addition to the London studio and boutique, the team also works with an international office in Doha, Qatar.   This second luxury design and lifestyle boutique also offers full interior architecture, interior design, and home dressing services.  The importance of the brand’s diverse cultural appreciation reflects in the products and services as well as the geographical spectrum of their locations.
